DHS Families and Community,
With the start of school coming soon, we wanted to give you an update on the ongoing remodel and construction project:
- The current remodel of the existing building will be complete prior to August 16th which will allow teachers to be back in the building for training and preparation.
- The school will be ready for students to attend class in person on Tuesday, August 22.
- The new Air Conditioning unit is on site and ready to be installed, so the plan is to have it functioning by the first week of September.
- Breakfast and lunch will be prepared at the elementary and served from the concession booth at the high school. Students will be able to eat in the blue pavilion at the park. There will also be a few tables set up in the gym. The commons area will be ready for use in early September.
- The music room and the wood/metal shops will be accessible through a securely marked walkway.
- The football facility will be ready for the first home game on August 25th. With the addition of the turf, new bleachers, and fencing, spectators WILL NOT be allowed to sit on the field or the track.
- The baseball/softball facilities are moving along on schedule. It is anticipated that sod will be placed in early September.
Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this entire demolition/renovation/construction process. The new building and facilities will be a valuable asset to our students, teachers, and community.
